Let me introduce myself, my name is Julie Wilson, I am a self-employed Complementary Therapist and a married mum of four children.

I trained to be a complementary therapist as I am a carer for my son who has a diagnosis of ADHD and High Functioning Autism. He cannot tolerate the medication that was being prescribed to him and suffered with extreme side effects, so I looked for an alternative which brought me to Liverpool Community College doing a full time, year long Diploma Level 3 Complementary therapy course nearly nine years ago.

I enjoyed the course so much that I have continued to update my knowledge by learning new therapies and skills and I am currently training to become a Nutritionist and Acupressure.

My "dream" is to see complementary therapies working alongside orthodox medicine. Gradually the NHS is recognising some of the therapies and I would love to see CAM in doctors' surgeries allowing patients to become less stressful and at the same time easing the workload for our busy GPs.
